Acrylic on Canvas

On a rainy day in Stockholm, I wandered through narrow streets, admiring the old architecture. Slim buildings squished together one after another, and among them was a shop for fruits and juices. The glass storefront was overflowing with oranges and pomegranates. Out the door and onto the sidewalk poured more of these same fruits, in bags and baskets and bins. The bright colors of the fruits contrasted perfectly with the gray sky - and it all came together to create a spectacular memory of my first time in that beautiful city. Where viewers might simply admire the bold colored fruit with little jewels of water like diamonds, I painted this piece as an ode to the memory of that day in Stockholm.
